In our journey as Christians, seeking spiritual guidance is essential. It helps us to strengthen our faith and understanding of God’s will in our lives. However, sometimes we aren’t always open to accepting this guidance in our efforts to control our lives. As a Christian keynote speaker, I love helping people find purpose and meaning in their lives. But, that means we have to be open to being guided by God. So, here are five tips for being open to spiritual guidance and some Biblical wisdom to go along with it. Prayer is our direct line to God. In Philippians 4:6-7, it says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.“ When seeking guidance, approach God with a heart of gratitude and openness. Share your concerns, listen for His response, and trust in His plans. The Bible is our guidebook for life. Psalm 119:105 states, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.“ Regularly reading and meditating on Scripture helps us to align our thoughts and actions with God’s will. This opens us up to His guidance. Fellowship with other believers offers support, wisdom, and accountability. Proverbs 27:17 reminds us, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.“ Engage with your church community, join small groups, and be open to the insights and encouragement from fellow Christians. John 14:26 assures us, “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.“ Be attentive to the gentle nudging and guidance of the Holy Spirit in your daily life. Sometimes, God’s voice is a quiet whisper, urging us towards His purpose. James 2:17 states, “Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.“ Reflection and action go hand in hand in our spiritual journey. Contemplate on your prayers and the insights you receive from the Bible and your community. Then, take steps in faith, trusting that God is guiding you along the right path.1. Seek Through Prayer
